Affiliate disclosure.
The short version. Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we might earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we'd recommend without the commission. Affiliate relationships never change what we say.
What an affiliate link is.
An affiliate link is a link to a product on a third-party retailer's site that has a tracking code attached. If you click an affiliate link and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you went directly to the retailer.
Where these links appear.
Affiliate links may appear in:
- Articles where we mention specific products (e.g., a glucose monitor, a book, a supplement).
- Resource lists on pillar pages.
- The free guide and newsletter content.
- Future recommendation pages or comparison pages.
When a product mention is an affiliate link, we will note that on the page or near the link itself. If a product is mentioned without an affiliate relationship, no disclosure is shown for that product.
Our editorial standard.
We only mention or link to products that Dr. Luebker would recommend independent of any commission. Affiliate income does not change what we recommend, what we don't recommend, or what we say about a product's strengths and limitations. If we wouldn't tell a patient about it, we don't tell a reader about it.
Specifically:
- We do not accept payment to write positive reviews.
- We do not write "sponsored content" where a brand pays for a particular message.
- We disclose any material connection we have with a product or company.
- If our opinion on a product changes, we update the content — even if it costs us commission.
Affiliate programs we participate in.
We may participate in affiliate programs from time to time. Active programs may include:
- Amazon Associates Program (when applicable)
- Bookshop.org affiliate program
- Continuous glucose monitor providers (e.g., Levels Health)
- Direct-to-consumer lab providers (e.g., Function Health, Inside Tracker)
- Selected supplement companies whose products we vet for purity, third-party testing, and clinical evidence
This list may change. Active relationships at the time you read this may not match the list above; the test we apply is the same regardless.
FTC compliance.
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising" (16 CFR Part 255). By making this disclosure, we comply with the FTC's requirement to disclose material connections between us and the products or services we mention.
This is not medical advice.
Even when we mention or link to a product, that recommendation is general educational content — not medical advice for you, individually. Always talk to your own clinician before adding any product, supplement, monitor, or device to your routine — especially if you have an autoimmune disease, take prescription medications, are pregnant, or are immunocompromised. See our full medical disclaimer for details.
