About

For clinicians

Material on this site written for physicians, residents, and advanced practice clinicians rather than for patients, including teaching, board review, and referral guidance.

Who this is for

Most of this site is written for patients, and this section isn't. The pages gathered here are for physicians, residents, advanced practice clinicians, and anyone else who sees these conditions professionally. The level assumes clinical training and it doesn't simplify mechanisms for a general audience.

Rheumatology occupies a small part of an internal medicine curriculum relative to how often these conditions present in general practice. Most people with inflammatory arthritis are seen first by someone who isn't a rheumatologist, and the interval between that visit and a diagnosis determines a great deal about how the disease goes. Material aimed at that first clinician is worth writing.

Teaching and board review

Dr. Luebker runs an annual rheumatology review series at White River Health and has delivered board review presentations for graduate medical education. The review series covers rheumatology as internal medicine examinations test it, which isn't the same as how a subspecialist would organize the subject.

Talks for clinical audiences

The three-part metabolic health series was written for a clinical audience and works through the biochemistry rather than summarising dietary guidelines. Recordings and descriptions are on the speaking pages. Each talk includes a full reference list in the deck.

Referrals

Referrals are handled through White River Health rather than through this site. This website is independent of that clinical practice, and nothing sent through it forms part of a medical record. If you have a patient you're concerned about, please use the normal referral route rather than this site's contact address.
