Sarah Luebker, DO is a board-certified rheumatologist and Medical Director of Rheumatology at White River Health. A graduate of the Vanderbilt Rheumatology Fellowship, she founded The Holistic Rheumatologist to bring patient-facing lifestyle science — nutrition, movement, environment, sleep, stress, and labs — to people living with autoimmune disease.
Sarah Luebker, DO is a board-certified rheumatologist and Medical Director of Rheumatology at White River Health. She trained at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she completed her Rheumatology Fellowship in 2023 under Dr. Tracy Frech, with sub-specialty interest in systemic sclerosis, inflammatory myositis, and vasculitis. She serves on the board of the Arkansas Rheumatology Association. She founded The Holistic Rheumatologist to translate the lifestyle science — nutrition, movement, environmental exposures, sleep, stress, and lab interpretation — that rarely fits inside a 15-minute appointment, into resources patients with autoimmune disease can actually use.
Sarah Luebker, DO is a board-certified rheumatologist, Medical Director of Rheumatology at White River Health, and the founder of The Holistic Rheumatologist — a patient-facing platform that brings the science of lifestyle medicine into the management of autoimmune disease.
She completed her Rheumatology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2023, training under Dr. Tracy Frech. Her clinical sub-specialty interests are in systemic sclerosis (including ILD screening and risk stratification for pulmonary involvement), inflammatory myositis (with particular focus on MDA5 dermatomyositis and the antisynthetase syndrome), and vasculitis (giant cell arteritis, ANCA-associated vasculitis, and IgG4-related disease). She serves on the board of the Arkansas Rheumatology Association.
Dr. Luebker's clinical work and research focus on the intersection of conventional rheumatology and lifestyle medicine — anti-inflammatory nutrition, resistance training, endocrine-disrupting chemical reduction, sleep architecture, and the metabolic underpinnings of autoimmune disease activity. Her work has been featured in Rheumatology (Oxford), at the American College of Rheumatology, with the Scleroderma Research Foundation, on Doximity, and in coverage by EurekAlert! and US News.
She founded The Holistic Rheumatologist to address what she saw missing in clinic: the time and depth to actually walk patients through the food, movement, and environmental work that meaningfully reduces inflammation alongside their medications. The platform is independent of her clinical practice at White River Health.

Speaking topics.
Talks Dr. Luebker delivers — calibrated for CME, professional society meetings, patient education, and conference keynotes.
Lifestyle as Medicine: Nutrition, Exercise, and Environmental Health in Rheumatic Disease
The flagship CME talk — three pillars (food, exercise, EDCs) anchored in named clinical trials (ADIRA, LIFTMOR, HI-STIM, G-FoRSS, SLE Cochrane). 25-minute and 60-minute versions.
Exercise as Disease-Modifying Medicine in Autoimmune Disease
Deep dive into the myokine system, sedentary time as independent CV risk, the LIFTMOR and HI-STIM safety data, and how to safely prescribe resistance training to autoimmune populations.
Metabolic Health and the Autoimmune Patient
Why insulin resistance amplifies autoimmune disease activity, how to detect it on standard labs, and how to address it without changing medications. Particularly relevant for fibromyalgia and Long COVID populations.
Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals and Autoimmune Risk
From the NHANES PFAS data to the intervention studies showing 27–76% body-burden reduction in days. Patient-actionable, evidence-anchored.
Reading Labs Beyond the Reference Range
hs-CRP, HOMA-IR, omega-3 index, vitamin D, anti-CCP, ANA — what the optimal ranges are, what to do with the numbers, and how to track lifestyle interventions over time.
The Cancer-Mimic Workup: IgG4-Related Disease and Granulomatous Disease in Practice
Diagnostic pearls and pitfalls in the autoimmune diseases that often present as malignancy. For rheumatologists, pathologists, and oncologists.
